Participatory planning

Ascolto Attivo has been working on participatory design projects all over Italy for more than 10 years. From Livorno to Pavia, from Naples to Fidenza, from Milan to Modena, together with inhabitants and administrations we have worked on shared projects for the recovery of abandoned and disused spaces, in order to transform them into spaces where creative potential and collective intelligence can express themselves to the full, creating opportunities for growth for the territory. In recent years, other areas of intervention have been added to the theme of urban regeneration – which remains fundamental, not only in large cities, but also in small provincial towns and inland areas. We are particularly happy to have been involved in a very delicate issue, such as post-earthquake reconstruction, with a project led by SOS – School of Sustainability, in Camerino, in the Marche region. In 2018, together with a multidisciplinary staff coordinated by Mario Cucinella, we curated the participatory paths for the realisation of the Arcipelago Italia projects, presented at the XVI Venice Architecture Biennale.
